What does heaven look like? Many people have an idea of what Heaven is like based on their religious or spiritual beliefs, but as with any faith-based concept, it would still be really nice to know for sure.
I get asked frequently about what Heaven is really like. What do “people” do there? What does heaven look like? Will I get to reunite with my loved ones and meet my ancestors…really?
What does Heaven look like?
Answering the question, what does heaven look like is tricky because Heaven isn’t really a place. It doesn’t have walls or doors or carpeted floors. Instead, it’s another plane, another dimension. And because of this, it’s honestly difficult for us to fathom what it’s like.
In this dimension called “Heaven,” we are no longer in a bodily form, but rather are pure energy. This pure energy is our Soul or Higher Self. It is the Essence of what makes us who we are, and it can’t be destroyed.
But just because earthly bodies aren’t necessary in Heaven, that doesn’t mean that our loved ones never take on a physical form. In their minds eye, clairvoyant mediums often see people as they looked during their life.
Their bodies are not solid, but more like a hologram—sort of translucent. Usually, they take on a version of their old form so that their loved ones can identify them. For example, one spirit always showed himself to me wearing khaki shorts and a t-shirt with food stains on it! His wife got a kick out of it, because he always had food stains on his shirts.
Sometimes, Spirits reveal themselves doing something they love. I’ve seen Spirits in a glowing, Heavenly “body”riding a tandem bike and painting!
And, loved ones in Spirit can even appear to us directly, like when my grandmother saw my grandfather in church after he had passed away!
Our deceased loved ones want us to know that they are happy and well, and they willingly take on a bodily form again, even though they don’t need it, so that we can recognize them and more easily receive their messages.
A glimpse of what heaven looks like?
Once, a client came to me to reconnect with her little girl who passed away. On that occasion, I felt like I got a good glimpse of what heaven looks like. (Usually I see spirits in my minds eye with nothing in the background.)
The little girl was wearing a white dress playing with other children (also wearing white) in front of a beautiful building with shallow, white stone steps.
The steps were as wide as the front of the building and there were two massive white columns in front. It wasn’t sunny, and it wasn’t dark. The atmosphere looked similar to what we see at dusk after a beautiful summer day.
Did this little girl manifest this just for me to see? Or did I really get a peek at this dimension?
So even though it’s hard to explain what heaven looks like to the eyes, it’s easy to explain what heaven is like by describing the feelings and vibes that exist on that plane.
What’s it like in heaven?
In the dimension we call heaven, there is only joy, peace and love.
There is no worry or concern for the future because our Higher Selves (also known as the soul) understands that all will be well, regardless of how people on the Earth feel at the time. Our souls fully comprehend that it’s truly the journey that matters, not the destination.
After all, our Souls choose to incarnate into a life on the earthly plane to have experiences that will help us reach our true Higher Purpose.
Is there pain in heaven?
There is no more pain or suffering in Heaven either. Many people I give mediumship readings to desperately want to know if their loved one is fully released from the suffering they dealt with, for example, during a prolonged illness. They are.
Is my loved one in heaven?
Yes. Spirits are happy and free in the Heavenly plane. People I read for also want to know if their loved one really is in Heaven. These people are often very religious and worry that their loved one might have been released from the pain and suffering of their sick earthly bodies, only to find themselves spending eternity in purgatory or hell.
Nope, they are “living” it up, totally free of pain, worries and the daily struggles that go with being in physical form on Earth.
Besides no longer being bound to a physical body, those in Heaven are no longer restricted by time and space. There’s nowhere to rush off to. There are no goals to meet. So relax and trust that you will truly see your loved ones again in Heaven.
